Fionula Linehan

Fionula is an award-winning actress and drama teacher with CADA Performing Arts. A versatile performer with a penchant for comedy, she has performed on numerous stages, as near as Cork City and as far away as Morocco. Some favourite performances include Lucy in the Sky (Peggy), Bold Girls (Cassie), A Skull in Connemara (Maryjohnny) and Lovers (Hannah).

A career highlight to date was her performance as Ellen in The Factory Girls at The Everyman (2016), described by the play’s renowned writer, Frank McGuinness, as “perfect in the role.” She performed in the world premiere of Ger FitzGibbon’s one-woman show The Hairdresser’s Calendar. Fionula was last seen on stage in October 2021 as Auntie Lizzie in Brian Friel’s Philadelphia Here I Come at the Cork Opera House.

Film TV and radio roles include On the Hemline, Banshee, My Unsung Hero, and she enjoyed being a passenger on the bus in that famous scene singing with Billy Murphy in The Young Offenders series. She has played Mrs Tilly Tolly for the last number of years for RTÉ Jr Radio’s Pandemonium with the Tilly Tollys series.

A panto connoisseur, Fionula is a stalwart of The Everyman panto season, returning to The Everyman each year, playing parts as diverse as Cinderella’s evil stepsister to the hippy dippy Mammy of Jack and the Beanstalk or Wishee in Aladdin, the 2021 Panto.
