Having completed training in all aspects of wig making, hairdressing, barbering and makeup, Maeve Readman works extensively in the world of theatre, film and television.
She has designed and worked on The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, La Cenerentola, Cosi fan tutte, L’elisir d’amore, L’italiana in Algeri and Orfeo ed Euridice (Lismore and Black Water Valley Opera Festivals); Grease, Sound of Music, Michael Collins, Dido and Aneas, Maria de Buenos Aires, Prodijig the Revolution, The Morrigan and all COH Proms concerts (Cork Opera House); Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Snow White, Peter Pan, and Nanny Nellie’s Adventures in Pantoland (Cork Opera House pantomimes); wig design for Rapunzel, The Snow Queen, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Jungle Book (The Gaiety Theatre). Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin and Cinderella (The Everyman) and Friends! The Musical Parody (UK and Ireland tour).
She has also worked on many film and fashion productions, including Vikings (History Channel, seasons 1 to 4), Penny Dreadful (Pilot), Redwater (BBC), Into the Badlands (seasons 2 and 3), The Young Offenders (BBC, seasons 1 to 5), Rosie (Roddy Doyle), Nightflyers (Netflix), Scéalta Grá na hÉireann (TG4), Holding (ITV), Murder at the Cottage (Jim Sheridan), Foundation, The Green Knight, The Silence of Mercy, The Gates, Dancing with the Stars, Bodkin, God’s Spy and Christy.
