From the age of 7 Phil O’Callaghan trained, danced and performed with Donna’s Dance Studio in Cork City under Donna Daly Blyth, Meghan Blyth and Sue-Ellen Chester-MacCarthy. Donna trained Phil and presented him with amazing opportunities and structure to lead a successful career.
Phil began his professional dance training at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa (CSN) Cork, directed by Jane Kellaghan and Aisling Byrne. He was awarded a place at the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona where he trained for his BA (Hons) in Dance. After graduating from college, Phil went on to work and perform in Disneyland Paris. He also worked on The MSC’s Bellissima cruise ship where he performed and travelled around the Mediterranean for 6 months.
In 2018, he returned to his hometown to perform in the Pantomime Cinderella at The Everyman, and again in 2019 and 2021 when he was ensemble dancer and dance captain in The Everyman’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin respectively.
In 2021, Phil performed in Disney’s sequel movie Disenchanted, which will be released this winter, working with stars like Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Mya Rudolf. Phil is now based in Canada where he is receiving training and exploring the film industry.
As a performance dancer, Phil also has been teaching for many dance schools throughout Cork including PlanBe, Sinead Shepard’s School of Dance and CADA Performing Arts.
Phil is delighted to back at The Everyman for yet another year of panto fun and to work with such a talented cast.
