Teresa Riveiro Böhm

Austrian-Spanish conductor Teresa Riveiro Böhm has been Leverhulme Conducting Fellow with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, for the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. She also won the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival 2019. Her 2021–22 season engagements include concerts with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, the Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie, Kremerata Baltica at the Kronberg Academy Festival, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre national de Metz, the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Previous orchestral highlights include the St Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, L’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Red Note Ensemble.

In previous seasons she received the first prize at the Dichler Wettbewerb in Vienna and the first orchestra prize from the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, and has also been appointed as Tanglewood Conducting Fellow. Riveiro Böhm studied orchestral conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (MDW) with Johannes Wildner and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Alexander Rumpf and Stephan E Wehr (opera). She is currently finalising a specialised master’s degree in conducting at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) under the guidance of Johannes Schlaefli.
