Mark Doherty is a writer and performer, with a wealth of experience from standup to clowning to acting, as well as writing for radio, television, stage and screen.
Writing credits include A Film with Me in It, Death of a Superhero, Couched and Soupy Norman (with Barry Murphy), and Time Trumpet with Armando Iannucci. Recent film and tv acting credits include The Hardacres, Small Town Big Story, Lies We Tell, The Silence of Mercy, Sisters, Finding Joy, Nowhere Fast, Handsome Devil, Red Rock and Moone Boy.
Theatre credits include Lunch, Car Show (Corn Exchange), Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Endgame and The Hostage and The Government Inspector, both at the Abbey theatre.
Trad, Mark’s first play, premiered at Galway Arts Festival in 2004. It won a Fringe First at Edinburgh, and The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Best Theatre Writing Award.
The Summer I Robbed a Bank is his first show at The Everyman.
