We are delighted to launch our 2026 Season: HERE TOGETHER, featuring Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch in a bold, site-specific show in an empty swimming pool, Enda Walsh returning to Cork to direct the 30th anniversary production of his play Disco Pigs, and Tommy Tiernan making his musical theatre debut in a new Mick Flannery musical.
At the heart of our 2026 programme is work created in Cork and made for Cork audiences. Later this year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Enda Walsh’s Disco Pigs with a major new EVERYMAN MADE production of the play, directed by Enda Walsh himself, returning one of Ireland’s greatest stage plays to the city where it all began.
At The Everyman, collaboration is a core value. In June, we will be partnering with Cork Midsummer Festival and The Metropole Hotel to create a unique site specific EVERYMAN MADE production of Pool (No Water) by Mark Ravenhill, transforming the empty swimming pool beneath The Metropole Hotel into a vivid theatrical experience, in a creative collaboration between The Everyman’s Artistic Director, Des Kennedy, and internationally acclaimed Cork choreographer Luke Murphy.
This season also includes the first-ever sharing of Éadaoin O’Donoghue and John O’Brien’s new opera Cú Chulainn – a sequel to their hugely successful Morrígan – as well as Mick Flannery’s hotly anticipated, moving and powerful new musical The House Must Win.
Supporting artists remains central to what we do. Our Up Front rehearsed readings give some of our commissioned writers a chance to move their plays from our development room – known as ‘the back bar’ – to our main stage and in front of a live audience. Be the first to hear these brand-new plays, directed by leading theatre makers Pat Kiernan, Katie O’Halloran and Lisa McGee.
Across 2026, The Everyman will continue to host a wide range of live events – from headline standup comedy and music to family shows and special events – reflecting the vibrant diversity of our special city.
Speaking about the HERE TOGETHER season Des Kennedy (right), Artistic Director and Co-CEO of The Everyman said:
“Our HERE TOGETHER season is rooted in Cork and made for Cork audiences and shows that The Everyman is vibrant, welcoming, deeply connected to the city and, above all, a place where we gather – together.”
Brian Fenton (left), Executive Director and Co-CEO of The Everyman, said:
“2025 was a year of ambition and transformation for The Everyman. In 2026, we are building on that momentum with a courageous and ambitious programme that brings internationally recognised Irish artists to Cork, invests in new work and local artists, and continues to place The Everyman at the heart of the cultural life of Cork. We are enormously grateful to our principal funders The Arts Council and Cork City Council, as well as our friends, business supporters in the VQ and across the city and county, and (most importantly) our audience, who make all our work possible.”
