Fionula Linehan

Fionula is an award-winning actress and drama teacher with CADA Performing Arts. A versatile performer with a penchant for comedy, she has performed on numerous stages, as near as Cork City and as far away as Morocco.

Some favourite performances include Lucy in the Sky (Peggy), Bold Girls (Cassie), A Skull in Connemara (Maryjohnny), Lovers (Hannah) and Philadelphia, Here I Come (Auntie Lizzie). A career highlight to date was her performance as Ellen in The Factory Girls at The Everyman (2016), described by the play’s renowned writer, Frank McGuinness, as “perfect in the role.” Fionula was last seen on stage in Ger FitzGibbon’s one woman play The Hairdresser’s Calendar at the Cork Arts Theatre’s wonderful Lunch and Supper Season.

Film TV and radio roles include On the Hemline, Banshee, My Unsung Hero, and she enjoyed being a passenger on the bus in that famous scene singing with Billy Murphy in The Young Offenders series. She has played Mrs Tilly Tolly for the last number of years for RTÉ Jr Radio’s Pandemonium with the Tilly Tollys series.

Fionula was delighted to facilitate eight weeks of drama workshops with The Lantern Project at the Nano Nagle Centre this year working with budding actors of all ages, as she believes acting is an art form that can be explored at any stage of life.

Panto time is the most special time of year and Fionula looks forward to the cheers, the boos and the “he’s behind yous”.
