Cathy White

Originally from Belfast, Cathy White is a Dublin-based MAM. Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama School in London, work includes many featured roles in seasons at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, Manchester Royal Exchange, Cheek by Jowl and the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square (with Force of Change and The Weir) at the West End.

In Dublin she’s been a regular at the Abbey Theatre and Peacock (including productions of As the Beast Sleeps, Trojan Women, Tarry Flynn, Barbaric Comedies and Anna Karenina). She also worked with Rough Magic Theatre Company, most especially with their production of Arthur Riordan’s Improbable Frequency in Dublin, Edinburgh and New York. She’s performed at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and MAC, and as a member of Smashing Times Theatre Company performing the one-woman piece, Thou Shalt not Kill, nationwide.

Cathy has been involved in a wide range of TV, radio and film work including plays and stories on Radio 4 and RTÉ dramas including BBC drama Murphy’s Law, Pumpgirl and On Home Ground. Latest TV work includes The Fall, Vikings and Scup and a featured regular role in major Canadian Series Nurses shown throughout North America on E-one and NBC 2019/20/21.

Cathy is also a facilitator in drama, musicality, poetry and art; has worked widely with TEAM, the brain injury organisation Headway and currently working on projects for Calypso Theatre Company, the Irish National Opera and Abbey Theatre Outreach department.
