Michael Grennell

In a career spanning more than forty years Michael has enjoyed working in all forms of acting media (theatre, TV, radio and film).

He started out as a member of the Abbey Theatre Company for three years, followed by four years as a member of Raidió Teilifís Éireann’s radio rep. Since then, he has worked extensively as a freelance actor both here and in Britain.

In most recent years Michael has enjoyed a fruitful period in Cork with a number of memorable productions at both Cork Opera House and The Everyman. Over a seven-year period he played Dev in Bryan Flynn’s epic musical of the life of Michael Collins, eleven different characters in the adaptation of Tom Barry’s Guerrilla Days in Ireland and Molina in John O’Brien’s acclaimed production of Kiss of the Spiderwoman at the Half Moon Theatre. He is also a regular in the Cork Opera House Christmas Pantomime.

Other memorable productions include Eejit of Love a new Irish musical which played for three weeks at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Roosevelt in Annie at Cork Opera House.

Recent TV work includes Game of Thrones, Ripper Street, Loving Miss Hatto and The Secret Scriptures.
