Mary Coughlan celebrates 40 years in music at The Everyman as part of Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.

Mary Coughlan, one of Ireland’s greatest jazz and blues artists, often compared to Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday, is celebrating 40 years in music with a nationwide tour and new releases in 2024.

Her latest single, ‘More Like Brigid’, honours Brigid of Kildare, a pagan healer later canonized by the Catholic Church; the song’s artwork, a portrait by Eilis De Faoite, was projected on St. Brigid’s Cathedral and Galway City Museum in 2021.

Coughlan’s music has explored complex relationships over four decades, and to mark this milestone, she has announced multiple tour dates across Ireland for 2024, with performances at venues including The Everyman in Cork, Theatre Royal in Waterford, Spiegeltent in Wexford, The Mac Theatre in Belfast and 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin.
