I Fall Down: A Restoration Comedy by Gina Moxley and Company (2023)

About

I Fall Down: A Restoration Comedy
Presented by Gina Moxley and The Everyman in association with Crawford Art Gallery and Cork Midsummer Festival
14–18 JUN 2023 – Crawford Gallery, Cork

I Fall Down, a new immersive performance by Gina Moxley, took place across the spaces of Crawford Art Gallery as part of Cork Midsummer Festival.

I Fall Down, a wildly funny and immersive performance from acclaimed writer Gina Moxley, took place across the spaces of Crawford Art Gallery as it prepared for a major regeneration project over the following years. A combination of contemporary movement, video and sound installation, opera and barefaced cheek, the audience followed one woman’s brazen attempt to right the wrongs of some of the most celebrated works in art history. A last fling before parts of the building were erased forever, she valiantly mustered the people of Cork to help her dig into her own past and correct the course of history. A restoration comedy, so to speak.

Gina Moxley (Danti-Dan, Dog House, The Patient Gloria) and company teamed up with The Everyman, Cork Midsummer Festival and Crawford Art Gallery to bring this explosive show to a beloved Cork city institution where Moxley was an art student in the late 1970s.
